Moves Johnson is a seasoned producer whose musical journey has taken him from the vibrant Canadian music scene to the dynamic landscape of Berlin. Before relocating to Germany in 2017, Moves left an indelible mark on the Canadian music industry, having written and produced 15 albums and EPs with a diverse array of bands, including “Stereoblastula,” “TheCounterPoint,” “Buddy Black and the Midnight Society,” and “Tight D and the Whities.” Notably, all of his productions in Canada hold the MAPL certification, a testament to his commitment to quality and authenticity.
Currently based in Berlin, Moves operates out of the esteemed Boiler Studios, nestled within the renowned Riverside Studios building. Here, he collaborates with a wide spectrum of local talent, spanning from bands to singer-songwriters and hip-hop artists. His expertise encompasses the entire production process, from initial recording sessions to final mastering and distribution. With a solid foundation in sound and music production from his studies at Metalworks Institute in Canada, under the tutelage of esteemed mentors such as Alfio Annibalini and Elliott Sairan, Moves brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every project. Furthermore, his extensive background in live sound engineering, having worked alongside acclaimed artists like Kim Mitchell, Rage Against the Machine, and Deep Purple, adds an invaluable dimension to his versatile skill set as a producer.
